Welcome to Carle class.

Dear parents,

Welcome back to school, Summer 2.

Dear parents,

Can you believe we are now in the last summer term before we have along break!

We are now working with the children to get them ready to move to their new classes in September, this is something we need help with, the children are becoming very independent now, but they need to be able to dress and undress themselves, put on their own shoes and look after their books and bags. Encourage your children at home to fold their clothes, put them away, check they have everything in their bags, it is a big task I know but if we start now they will be ready to take on the challenge of reception class.

In Carle class we will be concentrating on repeating patterns, looking at patterns on mini-beasts and other animals

This half term we will be focusing on mini-beasts and insects. This is the perfect project for summer, with lots of scope for play and investigation in outside spaces. Looking at mini beasts provides opportunities to learn about how we care for other creatures and for our environment, as well as plenty of counting and sequencing activities. There is a wealth of fiction and non-fiction books that relate to mini beasts to support the topic. So, get on those sun hats and that sun cream and explore!

Phonics is a very important part of our day, we will be learning new sounds every week and building up our reading skills by blending sounds together to read new words.

I want to take this opportunity to thank all the parents in nursery, we have had a tricky year, with lock downs and working on line which is extremely difficult for young children, but they have  all been amazing and achieved so well, I look forward to spending the next few weeks getting the children ready for their next adventure.

Kind regards

Mrs S Baker
