09/2015 - Amazing Homework
Year 5 pupil Savero and his brother Orren in Y3 raised the standard of home learning by producing the most outstanding Royal pieces of art. Savero created an amazing portrait of Queen Elizabeth II, decorated with a velvet dress, and pearl earrings. He made the frame from birchwood, painted it gold decorated in with flowers. Orren made a remarkable replica of St Edward's Crown; the golden crown encrusted with diamonds, rubies, pearls, emeralds and sapphires used in the coronation of every British Monarch since Queen Victoria!
Savero was inspired by his visit to both the state rooms in Buckingham Palace, and the Royal Mews saying that he really enjoyed learning about the Royal heritage of Britain and it was the first time he had been to Buckingham Palace. He saw 15 rooms and he particularly enjoyed the longest room; the art gallery. He then wanted to represent such an honourable lady. Orrin will be visiting the Mews this term and he can hardly wait to see the gold carriage used to take the Queen to her coronation. Well done boys we are proud of yours efforts!
