03/2015 - Solar Eclipse at Coleraine Park
Between 9:20am and 9:50am this morning, students at Harris Primary Academy Coleraine Park, were able to try and see the solar eclipse with the assistance of Mrs. Bahai. Students were provided with specialist protective eyewear and used an advanced telescope to view the eclipse. Unfortunately, cloudy weather made viewing the eclipse difficult. Nonetheless, students enjoyed themselves thoroughly, listening to Mrs. Bahai explain the exact science behind the eclipse, “In a solar eclipse, a swathe of the Earth is plunged into darkness as the Moon comes between us and the Sun.”
We would like to thank Mrs. Bahai for all of her hard work, providing our students with an exciting scientific observation, which only happens every ten years!
